The christening took place at St Peter and Paul Church, Aldeburgh on July 1st 2001 (the same church where John had been baptised)
During the service the Rector explained that the mother of the other baby being baptised was German and that in Germany, it is customary to select a passage from the bible for the baby. Thomas' passage was as follows....
JOHN 14 Chapter 5
Thomas saith unto him, Lord we know not wither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Grand thoughts for our little chap but Thomas took it all in his stride!
Louise's brother Corin had flown back from America for the weekend to become Thomas' God Father. I had traveled a less impressive distance, but was equally proud, to become his God Mother.
